The Man on the Wall is a 1982 tragicomic film based on Peter Schneider’s Der Mauerspringer (The Wall Jumper). In the first sequence, Arnulf Kabe leaves his wife in East Berlin to cross over to West Berlin. The plan is first to get arrested at a border crossing and get sent to a psychiatric hospital.
