While speaking with his uncle, Oskar takes stock of his life and starts to cry, which his uncle attributes to a broken heart.

While a hysterical Yvonne has a realtor appraise the house, Oskar's brother has a strange epiphany.

Oskar fights with Danuta about who is responsible for Yvonne's breakdown. Danuta thinks she has found her lost bottle of medicine, but it's not hers.

In heaven, Oskar learns that it's his uncle who is dying and not him, and that he might get another chance at life.

Oskar's brother comes home to a terrible scene: his uncle dead, and Yvonne's mother unconscious. Meanwhile, Yvonne reads Oskar's letter.

Oskar and Yvonne declare their love for each other, while Danuta, Tom, and Vilo look on. We see that Tom later on becomes a famous writer, with Danuta as his ghostwriter and Vilo as his agent.
