Elling receives a voice message from Hans-Georg, whom he has commissioned to investigate his wife. The content is anything but reassuring! A little later, he is traveling with Lona on a country road and inquires where she has hidden the money.

When Lona arrives at the campsite, Jasper is still in the trailer. Lona sends him home. She seems melancholic, even the next day when she goes out on the lake alone.

Elling and his wife finally get a moment alone together, though he won't tell her what has happened. Meanwhile, Lona arrives at the campsite, where Jasper is already waiting for her.
