Rheinmain Szene visits a school for make-up artists to give you an insight into this interesting and creative field of work. Our reporter bravely surrenders his face to some free minded, but highly skilled, artists while finding out what it takes to do make-up for a living.

Rheinmain Szene interviews the German band Rapsoul. Their music combines elements of rap and soul and produces what they consider to be genuine music. They’re proud to write all their own lyrics and are happy to be back after a long break with their third album Irgendwann [Some Day].

Rheinmain Szene visited the GREEN & BLUE music festival in Obertshausen and spoke with DJ icon Sven Väth. With family and old friends amongst the awaiting fans, playing in his home town means a few extra nerves for Väth, but he hopes to channel a different energy one day at the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Mommy Väth has supported her DJ son Sven and his music since his early beginnings as a teenage DJ. Rheinmain Szene interviewed her at the GREEN & BLUE Festival to find out a bit more about the man in the hat. However she wasn’t quite ready to share all his childhood stories.

Meet the up and coming German pop rock band Luxuslärm (Luxury Noise) from Iserlohn, North Rhine-Westphalia. They present their new single “Unsterblich” (Immortal) of the album Tausend Kilometer bis zum Meer (Thousand Kilometers to the Sea) and share a little on the writing process and where they got their name from.

At the 2009 German entertainment industry Diva Awards the Diva Earth Award or “green Diva” was awarded by the German cinematographer Michael Ballhaus. This prize was awarded for the first time this year and will continue to be awarded annually for exemplary entertainment with a focus on environmental protection. Michael takes the opportunity to show his support for the award. The inaugural winner is the film Unsere Erde [Our Earth].

The Diva for Music Artist of the Year is awarded to Annette Humpe and Adel Tawil from the German pop band Ich + Ich. Our reporter speaks with Adel after he accepts the coveted award on behalf of the pair.
