Lerchenberg is a satirical sitcom produced for ZDF's 50th birthday. The plot centers on Billie, a young ZDF editor who wants to develop innovative productions for the station. When her supervisor tells her that washed-up actor Sascha Hehn, of all people, is going to get a lead role, Billie is stunned.

After Billie returns from her pitch meeting with Dr. Wolter, everyone is excited to meet the hero of the innovative new ZDF series. But nobody expected has-been actor Sascha Hehn to take the lead role…

Sascha Hehn does not want to take the supporting role he’s been assigned — instead, he opts to audition for the lead role, adding a few inappropriate touches of his own. The casting team is horrified! Can Billie fix the situation?

Doctor Wolter hands over Billie’s film project to Billie’s trainee, Judith, and tasks Billie with arranging Sascha Hehn’s comeback. Can she convince the washed-up star to take a less-conventional role?

Billie’s bad day gets even worse when Philipp tells her that he will now be dating her intern! Meanwhile, Sascha Hehn isn’t feeling so lucky either: His comeback isn’t materializing, and he now has to face the consequences of his illegal parking.

Billie visits Sascha Hehn in his hotel room and insists that he could still make a comeback – but Sascha’s not exactly in the best situation in his private life.

There’s a new role for Sascha Hehn! But trouble arises when he realizes he’s not playing the lead…

Dr. Wolter isn’t impressed with the latest draft of the script, and orders Judith to make corrections. Meanwhile, it comes to light that Sascha turned an important editor against him years and years ago. Will Billie be able to help him make things right?

Sascha gains access to data that is none of his business — perhaps he and Sibylle can use it to their advantage? Meanwhile, Judith suddenly gets sick out of nowhere.

Sascha's bribery attempt fails. Now Sybille has to convince him to own up to his mistakes and promise to do better. But Sascha refuses to say he's sorry!

Judith is taking all of the credit for Billie’s revision, but at least it seems that Philipp has also begun to see through Judith. He and Billie decide to the soccer game together as she had hoped. Meanwhile, Sascha fires his agent, or does his agent fire him?

Sascha apologizes to Mr. Bode — but then something else comes up that takes Mr. Bode by surprise. Ultimately, it looks like Sascha and Billie are in for a bumpy ride together.

Sascha Hehn is watching a cooking show in Judith and Billie's office while they wait for the conference call with Dr. Wolter to begin. One thing leads to another, and the idea of a new cooking show starring Sascha is born! Billie remains unconvinced, until a little flirtatious brainstorming in the cafeteria between her and Philipp results in a plan that seems a bit more promising.

Doctor Wolter’s secretary is not making things easy for Billie and Sascha! Ultimately, they prevail, and their show concept gets approved. Now Billie and Philipp have made plans to go out together and celebrate.

Billie is happy to have finally found a suitable project for Sascha, and to have developed the idea as a team! The two are just putting together the trailer for the new show when Billie is called downstairs to decide on the new decorations. When she returns, a nasty surprise awaits her...
