The chase continues and ends in a terrible accident. Lona then returns the rental car and Elling picks her up, having escaped without being seen.

Elling and his wife finally get a moment alone together, though he won't tell her what has happened. Meanwhile, Lona arrives at the campsite, where Jasper is already waiting for her.

When Lona arrives at the campsite, Jasper is still in the trailer. Lona sends him home. She seems melancholic, even the next day when she goes out on the lake alone.

Elling receives a voice message from Hans-Georg, whom he has commissioned to investigate his wife. The content is anything but reassuring! A little later, he is traveling with Lona on a country road and inquires where she has hidden the money.

Their colleagues have already gathered for a meeting when Elling and Lona get to work, and it's about the Special Operations Unit raid last night. Now they have to watch the footage from the parking garage's surveillance camera to try to identify the perpetrator...

Lona suspects that she and Elling won't be left alone because of the money, Jasper returns with new findings from forensics, and Elling's mother has stern words for her daughter-in-law Susanne when she visits the nursing home.

Lona and Elling drive to Santovaal, the company where Dreyer worked for years. From Dr. Fichte, they learn that Dreyer was a very distinguished employee to whom Santovaal owes a great deal.

Sören Jasper goes to the fish stand at the Marnow campsite to do a bit of snooping around. He tries to strike up a conversation with the regulars, who knew Beck but mainly give him a hard time.

A dead fox on the road gives Lona and Elling new ideas about the motives of two different perpetrators. Jasper tries to learn more about Beck in a casual conversation with the Benders over a plate of smoked eel. Meanwhile, Peters, who followed Lona and Elling, identifies himself as an LKA investigator at the campsite and tries to get information about the current state of the investigation.

Peters manages to find out the current state of the investigation from Lona and Elling, but he doesn't reveal any information himself. Elling is suspicious, so he calls the Schwerin Criminal Investigation Police Office to check if everything is above board.

In the first part of the new episode, there is initially a recap of what has happened so far. Lona and Elling are sitting by the lake and talking when Elling receives a call from Böhm.

Jasper encounters a pastor in the cemetery and strikes up a conversation with him, asking a few insinuating questions. When Jasper continues his walk through the cemetery, something unexpected happens.

When Elling visits his mother at the care facility, he makes an astonishing discovery: Her memory performance has greatly improved! The reason for this is a medication that is still in the testing phase. The manufacturer? None other than Santovaal.

Elling gets a bug from Forensics to listen in on his wife. When she leaves the house again in the evening for an exclusive interview, Elling follows her. Will his suspicions turn out to be correct?

Susanne and Benedikt are lying in bed together, and Elling is listening in on their conversation. Lona returns to the camper after a long swim in the lake and wonders where Jasper is. Finally, the phone finally rings, but it's not Jasper on the other end of the line...
