Reinhard Mey is a prominent German singer-songwriter working primarily in Germany and in France, where he is known as Frédérik Mey.

This anti-war song was originally released by Reinhard Mey in 1986. In 2020, he recorded this new version together with several other musicians to promote the work of the charity Friedensdorf International, which provides aid to sick and injured children from war-torn areas.
