Oswald the dog is ill and Jonas is very worried about him. While his father is getting ready to put Oswald out of his misery, Jonas seeks help from the new vet in town.

Dr. Hansen still doesn't have any patients, and his daughters are getting worried, too. Is there anything they can do to help? Meanwhile, he finally meets Jonas's family.

Jonas's world implodes when he realizes that Oswald has gone. His father must have discovered his hideout...

It's just before Christmas, a busy time of year for delivery man Wolfgang Paschke.

Wolfgang Paschke stops by the house to say hi to his wife and finds his son in the middle of a snowball fight. Unfortunately, he has to go back out again.

Paschke has some trouble at the bank and we get the impression that he is experiencing some financial problems.

After Paschke leaves the bank, it is robbed by two men who then proceed to leave what they stole in Paschke's car.

After liquor is secretly added to his beer at the bar, Paschke runs off the road on the icy drive home and is caught by the police. Meanwhile, there are no leads as to who the bank robbers may have been.

Paschke is questioned at the police station and then lies to his wife about how his night ended.

Paschke is fired the morning after his accident, and finds the bag of money as he is removing his things from the company's vehicle.
