Bettina is unwilling to compromise, and only willing to see Jan if he leaves his wife.

Jan abandons his marriage and moves in with Bettina, but it is not easy to start a new life together.

Bettina takes Jan to the place where she served her prison sentence. Jan begins to re-consider how he's lived his life both during the GDR and afterwards.

In the final part of the film, Bettina and Jan learn the hard way that many people don't understand or believe in their relationship. However, Andreas still retains positive feelings about Bettina, which gives her some confidence.

"The Story of the Flying Robert" is another one from Heinrich Hoffmann's famous children's book Der Struwwelpeter, published in 1845.

Der Struwwelpeter, known famously in English as Shockheaded Peter, is a brutal set of stories from the 19th century intended to terrify children into behaving.

In 1891, Mark Twain wrote Slovenly Peter, his own translation of the book.

Die Klasse – Berlin '61 is a docudrama about a class of students who commuted from East Berlin to the West on a daily basis to attend school, and the consequences of the construction of the Berlin Wall. The story is told through interviews as well as reenacted scenes.

Even though adolescents who were denied the right to attend high school in East Berlin could find ways to continue their education in the West, neither the commute nor the social dynamics were easy.
