The day of the award ceremony has arrived, and everyone is in a great mood — except for Max, who’s furious with Nina and refuses to speak with her. Meanwhile, rumors are flying among the church congregation about the nature of Hannes and Jan’s relationship.

Heidi and her grandfather ride a sled through the valley — it’s her first time, and she loves it! Peter, meanwhile, is having a rough time in class, and the teacher isn’t going easy on any of the students today.

Leipzig, 1989: Twelve-year-old Fritzi lovingly looks after a little dog belonging to her best friend, Sophie, who has apparently gone on summer vacation with her family in Hungary. But when Sophie doesn’t return in the fall, it becomes clear that her family actually fled to West Germany. Fritzi courageously sets out to return Sputnik to Sophie… and gets caught up in a movement that’s changing the future of the country.

While cleaning out the headquarters to find items to bring to the flea market, Henri digs up an old Geiger counter. Meanwhile, Hannes’s ex-girlfriend Debbie shows up and starts behaving inappropriately, and Nina doesn’t understand why Max still won’t talk to her.

When Henri notices that his Geiger counter has gone off, he quickly alerts Emma. Emma’s convinced it’s just an old piece of junk, but when Debbie sees what’s going on, she makes a suspicious phone call. Meanwhile, Max is still refusing to talk to Nina.

Heidi and Josef comes across what appears to be a little dog caught in a trap, and try to help it. But the townspeople are certain that there are hungry wolves roaming the area…

Jan from Munich tells us a whimsical winter story — loosely adapted from the tales of Baron of Münchhausen, the “Baron of Lies” — and carries us off into the Baron's world of fantasy and exaggeration.

An intruder grabs Henri — is he going to kidnap him? Meanwhile, Nina gets stuck in the elevator with Max, who may now finally be forced to talk to her.

Peter and Heidi are shocked to see that Karl, Theresa, and Willi have taken over their tree house. But then Heidi hatches a plan to get them out…

At lunch, it becomes clear that Debbie is actually a pretty shady character. Meanwhile, Henri is kidnapped, and Nina and Max finally have it out in the broken elevator…

Max and Nina are trying to make the best of their awkward time stuck in the elevator together. Meanwhile, Henri is very relieved when Emma finally comes home. Together they search for evidence against Debbie… and find it!

When Peter plans to climb a mountain to harvest snail clover, he leaves Heidi behind to look after the goats. But things don’t exactly go as planned…

After learning what Henri and Emma have uncovered in their investation, Hannes realizes the truth about the origins of the tea Debbie sold to them. In the meantime, the maintenance technician hurries over to fix the elevator – but maybe it wasn’t such an emergency after all. See for yourself!
