This song by Caroline Tudyka in French and German is based on a poem by German-Jewish poet Else Lasker-Schüler, one of the greatest poets in German history. Lasker-Schüler fled from the Nazis and died in Jerusalem in January 1945. She always longed to return to the Berlin of her memories, before so much of it was bombed.
